OUR PASTOR & ELECT LADY
Pastor Waddelll Cockerham Sr. was called by God in 1987 to the plow so that God could use him to become a fisher of men while training him how to handle the flock of God. Pastor Cockerham is an Atkins' High Hall of Famer. Having grown up in the Cleveland Project Housing Community he desired to become a famous athlete, however, God had other plans.
At that time Pastor Cockerham stepped out on faith and started Hope of Glory Baptist Church with fifteen members. From 1987 until 1991 Pastor Cockerham continued to allow God to use him in training the new converts to the Lord. It was during that time Chairman Deacon Doug Ingram was instructed by the Board of Pleasant Abescina to locate a new leader for the minsitry, It was then that God spoke Pastor Cockerham's next mission. Since then Pastor Cockerham has faced many hurdles in fulfilling the mandate that God placed on his life even before he came forth of his mother's womb.
Today, our Pastor strives to reach out in the ocmmunity as a whole to compel men & women to return unto the Lord. Presently, he is the President of Bringing In Sheep Outreach, a ministry designed to reach the lost remnant of God. As the leader not only does he inspire the people of God through the Word of God but he lives what he preaches and teaches out of the Word of God, He is the father of
Our First Lady is none other than Tiffany McKinnie-Cockerham who also a mighty woman of God whom God hand selected to be the help-met for our leader. God has many plans designed for our First Lady who is a very active member of the choir where she raps for Jesus. She was an Hall of Famer in High School in Volleyball and Basketball. We are looking for God to take her to higher heights in Jesus.
OUR CHURCH
Greater Hope is located at 414 Mason Street in Winston-Salem, NC. In 1991 Pastor Waddell Cockerham Sr. was called from Pastoring a small congregation of Hope of Glory to Pastor what use to be Pleasant Abescina Missionary Baptist Church. At that time he only had fifteen members. He agreed to become the Pastor of Pleasant Abescina and changed the name to Greater Hope of Glory Missionary Baptist Church.
Today, Greater Hope of Glory is a small membered church with a lot of love, Word and desire to see the people of God reach their God-Given potential. The ministry has a group of passionate and compassionate members who encourage one another to use their gifts and do all things unto the Lord, for only what we do for Christ is going to last.
Presently, the ministry as several auxiliaries that bridge unity with other ministries as well as the body of Greater Hope of Glory. We are looking forward to God taking the ministry higher as new converts and members grow in the unity of God having the same spirit on one accord.
